Snapshot #4
This painting was part of Michael's travelling art exhibition "In This Together", a body of work with the message: 'Why we live in this place', which launched in Kimberley and travelled to Cranbrook, Rossland, Fernie, and Golden. Michael's objective for this art exhibition that was funded by the Columbia Basin Trust was "to visit other communities, to paint, to listen, to learn about what makes us unique and what binds us together". Micheal believes that the fate of the flora and fauna in the Columbia River Basin is inextricably woven into the consciousness of its people. "We can't disconnect ourselves from nature, and as residents, we bear an extra weight of responsibility."
