Van Colden

Van is a self taught oil painter who paints everyday freeze frames drawing from her family’s abundant experiences at the ski hill. Her paintings depict nostalgic scenes eliciting fun happy memories for any ski family. Her vibrant and playful figures provide a dreamlike, take-me-back-to-that-day kind of feeling. She enjoys adding humor to her pieces to amuse all ages.

Trained as a physiotherapist, she has spent much time studying movement, however, she now spends most of her time with paintbrushes. Whimsical in nature, she captures fleeting moments through movement and simple actions, leaving the detailed “real-life” depictions up to the photographers and portrait artists. Her pieces are meant to leave you feeling cheerful, with bright, bold colors, and distinctive use of oil paint.
