Kimberly Olson
Kimberly attended Alberta College of Art and Design in the late '90s and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2002. In her final year at ACAD, her work was featured in Canada's Applied Arts Magazine. Early in her career, she worked in-house at design agencies and as a freelance illustrator. After travel, she stepped away from the Applied Arts. Instead, she jumped into the sculptural field of carpentry and residential home construction for eight years.
With a need to return more fully to her roots in the visual arts, she was selected as one of the Artists to participate in 'Art in the Park' 125 years of Glacier National Park and Yoho National Park. She coordinated private art classes, including a mixed media portraiture workshop for Leah Evan's Female Youth Program: 'Circle In.' Kimberly was a speaker at PechaKucha at Key City Theatre, sat on the CV Arts Board for a time, and is the Artist in Residence at Pynelogs Cultural Centre in Invermere, BC.
Kimberly's passions encompass many forms of art, expression , and adventure; Eastern Dance, the healing arts of Traditional Thai Massage, Yoga, and hiking/mountaineering. These pursuits provide ample inspiration for her art.
Private Collections of her work can be found throughout North America.
